It is the one time a year when wines are produced. Guests will visit our vineyards\, wineries and tasting rooms to Wineopoly pieces. At the vineyards\, they can learn about the harvest process and taste grapes straight from the vines. The winners will be determined by the total value of the pieces they collect. \nCollect properties (vineyards\, wineries and tasting rooms) by visiting the Willcox vineyards\, wineries and tasting rooms. The person with the highest property value wins! Prices include tickets to the wine festival\, dinners and hotel stays. \nWatch out there are some cards that will devalue your property like Late Spring Frost or Hailstorm. SUMMARY:Willcox Wine Country Spring Festival
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce\, THE SPRING FESTIVAL IS HAPPENING! MAY 15 & 16 (11am till 5pm both days)! \nWe have worked hard to layout a festival that is fun\, exciting while ensuring everyone’s safety! \nParticipating Wineries: \nBirds & Barrels Vineyards | Bodega Pierce\nCarlson Creek Vineyards | Coronado Vineyards\nGolden Rule Vineyards | Keeling Schaefer Vineyards\nPillsbury Wine Company | 1764 Vineyards\nBarrelhead Farms Winery | Copper Horse Vineyard\nDeep Sky Vineyard |Page Springs Cellars\nStrive Vineyards \nWe will have over 20 non-winery vendors along with 2 food trucks. \nWe are currently working on our music schedule and will release it on our social media sites. We will not be having the “big bands” in the later afternoon this time. The music will mainly be solo artist\, duets or trios. \nThis festival will look a little different: \n\nSmaller in size\, we will only be utilizing Railroad Park and Railroad Ave. between Maley and Stewart.\nOur booths will be spaced out to ensure we minimize lines. Each vendor will have the option to serve off of a minimum of two sides in their booth.\nWe will not have chairs in the park. If you would like to bring a blanket or chair\, please feel free. There will be limited tables and chairs for dining around the street.\nLighter music. We will still have open till close music.\nSanitizer stations will be spread out throughout the festival.\nWe are asking our vendors and servers to wear mask or have a protective barrier between them our their guests. Mask for guests are optional.\nThe entrance will be across from Windmill park (next to the Rex Allen Museum). Exits will be located at Railroad Ave & Maley along with Railroad Ave and Stewart.\nThere is only one ticket for sale – Wine Tasting + 10 Tasting Tickets. Glass glasses can be purchased for an additional cost. All credit card and event site fees are included. Additional tickets can be purchased for 5 tasting tickets for $10.\nWe will be offering beer. All beer profits support the Sulfur Springs Historical Society.\nGeneral Admission tickets will cost $5 and will only be sold at the entry gate.\n\nWe have a maximum capacity we are working with. Wine tasters with tickets will be allowed in. The Willcox area leads the industry’s grape production by growing 74% of the state’s wine grapes and is the source of the most highly rated Arizona wines by Wine Spectator\, with 45 wines rated 88-90 over the past 10 years. The area is designated the Willcox AVA (American Viticultural Area)\, making it federally recognized as a unique and distinctive wine growing region in the United States. Local wineries feature 10 tasting rooms\, tours\, locally grown and produced wines and the semi-annual Willcox Wine Country Festival (held in May and October)\, which has been rated by Fodor’s Travel as one of the top-ten wine festivals in North America. Please bring ID. \nWhat are my transport/parking options getting to the event? \nThere are plenty of free parking spaces in downtown Willcox. \nI see you are offering tickets by time\, what does that mean and how long can I stay? \nTo help with ensuring NO-LINES we are only letting a set number of people in per hour. You are free to stay as long as you like. Remember there are a number of tasting rooms in downtown Willcox to visit along with wineries with tasting rooms located within 20 minutes of the festival.\n \nAre mask required? \nWe are asking our vendors and servers to wear mask or have a protective barrier between them our their guests. Mask for guests are optional. \nWill you have hand sanitizer available? \nSanitizer stations will be spread out throughout the festival. We are also asking all vendors to have hand sanitizer available for you. \nAre you having your dinner on Friday or the Saturday after dark activities? \nWe are not going to have these events at this festival. We are hopeful they will return for the October festival. \nWhat happens if you sell out of wine tasting tickets? \nIf we sell-out\, general admission will be cut-off. We will be monitoring the total capacity of the festival throughout the day. With the smaller festival\, we want to ensure the people that do attend have a great time and have plenty of space for social distancing. \nMy partner doesn’t drink wine\, can they get in? What about our designated driver? \nIn both cases\, that person will be allowed in. One per group. We will be offering beer. All beer profits support the Sulfur Springs Historical Society. If you have any questions at the festival\, our front gate team has worked with us for the past 6 years and is well trained on how this festival will be operated. \nWhat can/can’t I bring to the event? \nYou cannot enter the event with alcoholic beverages purchased elsewhere or leave the event with an open container. Given the uncertain times we are experiencing due to COVID-19\, we’ve come up for an exciting promotion for fall festival dates. \nThere is nothing more important to us than ensuring the health and safety of guest\, vendors and support team. When purchasing tickets you will be asked to agree to abide by our procedures and protocols. \nWhile we cannot do a traditional festival\, we have created an exciting Weekend in Willcox promotion! \nFestival in the Park \nAt Railroad Park\, we will feature craft\, artisan and specialty vendors. (No wineries). There will also be two food trucks. Entry to the park is free. \nPassport & Poker Run \nTickets on Eventbrite. \nEach person that purchases the passport and poker run will get: \n\n10 – $1 gift certificates redeemable at participating wineries\nPassport to Willcox Wine Country\nEntry into the Poker Run\n\nOne Designated Driver per two paid entries will be allowed to participate in the poker run and eligible for prizes. They must register on Eventbrite. \nPassport to Willcox Wine Country \nThis passport will give you special deals at participating Willcox Wine Country Wineries. In the future\, we are working with the City of Willcox on monthly promotions! Passport holders will get special invitations\, discounts and other surprises. \nPoker Run Through Willcox Wine Country \nThe poker run will be an exciting addition to the weekend. Each purchase enters the purchaser into the poker run. DESCRIPTION:Get a taste of the Whetstone Mountains backcountry on the Ocotillo Trail! Join an experienced park ranger for a 3.2 mile hike over moderate terrain. Make sure to bring plenty of water\, good hiking shoes\, and to dress appropriately for the weather. \nBuilt in response to visitor requests for additional and more challenging trails at Kartchner Caverns State Park\, the new trail is 1.75 miles through the foothills of the Whetstone Mountains. To access the trail\, visitors must use the Foothills Loop Trail\, bringing the total loop distance to 3.25 miles. \nThis trail is considered challenging. If you plan to participate in the guided hike\, please wear closed-toe shoes\, dress appropriately for the weather and bring plenty of water. \nPark entry is $7/vehicle\, no additional cost for the hike. Leashed dogs welcome. Hike may be cancelled due to weather\, please check conditions before coming out. \nHike repeats Apr 27 and May 25\, 2019.
