Birds and Barrels Vineyards is owned and operated by Chad and Monica Preston. Formerly from Mesa, Arizona, Chad and Monica purchased their 50 acres in the spring of 2015 and have been clearing land, planting, harvesting and making wine ever since. Birds and Barrels has no plan for slowing down as they prepare to plant block three in April of 2019. Those vines will consist of all white varietals, Petit Manseng, Symphony and Riesling.
Chad and Monica enjoy entertaining and talking about the natural beauty of the Willcox area and it’s amazing history. The focus of Birds and Barrels Vineyards is to not only to produce great wine but to offer it’s consumers an Arizona wine experience. The name Birds and Barrels Vineyards came about from Chad and Monica, both nature lovers, wanting to incorporate something about the area into the name, hence the Birds and Barrels!
Birds and Barrels is located on the Willcox Bench just off Arzberger Road. The elevation is slightly over 4300 feet. Currently they have 10 varietals planted; 7 red and 3 white.
